Proposed stained glass mosaic design ("Jesus and the Children") presented to church Building Committee,
pastor, architect, builder and donors. Design and construction techniques approved. Down payment approved.
3/31/06
Backer board delivered last week. Prep work and glossy white paint applied.
This project is a little too large to fit into my studios, so I constructed a covered portable 10' x 8'
outdoor display unit normally used for outdoor shows.
4/1/06
Painting is complete. I am finalizing the design and will be reviewing it with the donors on 4/3/06.

After 4/4/06 meeting with donors and receipt of final design approval, a freak 50 mph wind topples the outdoor structure, taking the backing with it! But the backing is fine. Moved it inside the studio. Stained glass pieces are cut and organized by color.

Moved backer board inside my studio. Boy, is space in my studio tight!
4/24/06
Transferring design onto backer board in preparation of mosaic'ing on 5/1/06.

Design transferred to board.
5/8/06
Mosaic pieces being applied to the board. This will continue for two weeks.
5/15/06
Grout color testing completed. White selected. Mosaic application continuing.
5/19/06
Mosaic application of foreground items continuing.
5/27/06
Foreground completed. Background lines of flower-strewn grass continuing.
6/3/06
All mosaic work is completed. Grouting begins.
6/6/06
Work is completed. Builders pick up finished project and transport it to the church.
6/6/06
Project is temporarily stored in the Miller Center fellowship hall until the builders are ready to install it.
