Rainbow in Rotorura

We saw so many rainbows, cloudbows, mistbows, etc.

River Anduin (Rangitikei River)

This is the view from Gravity Gully over the Rangitikei River in the North Island.  Used to portray the River Anduin.  You can also take a daring bungi jump or a ride on a "flying fox" here.

Arwen's Glade (Waitarere Forest)

Near Foxton on the Kapiti Coast.  This beach forest was used to film Arwen's vision of her son.  Also used to portray the Osgiliath Wood at the end of "The Two Towers."

Trout River

Somewhere in the North Island around Rotorura.  The swirling water is the base of a large waterfall.  This is one of numerous rivers throughout the country used for hydro-electric generation.  Trophy rainbow and brown trout are caught in these rivers.

"Get off the road!" (Mt. Victoria)

Would you believe this is a city park in downtown Wellington?  True! This is a city park and greenbelt encompasing Mt. Victoria in Wellington.

Black Rider Tree (Mt. Victoria)

Same location as the "Get off the road" sight.  This is where the 4 hobbits hid from the Nazgul.

Hobbits Hiding (Mt. Victoria)

OK.  Use your imagination.  The Nazgul are coming out from behind the tree.  Be afraid.  Be very afraid.
